VSquare Backup patch notes - Version 1.4.6/2
Client
- Fixed a bug that could cause a serivce window date and time to be saved without specified minutes.
- Backup history view has been updated to be more readable and accessible. You can now distinguish between real or published backups as well as know what backupset created the history entry
- Fixed a bug where a Hyper-V disk would display as an unselect source in the backupset source list
- Fixed a bug causing host and datastore to be displayed incorrectly on some virtual machines details dialog.
Backup
- Cloning a full folder for SmartCopy on a deduplicated disk is now faster
Staged Upload
- Failing to retrieve changed areas for VMware disks will now correctly fallback to VSquare diff mode.
Restore
- You can now choose to not create default VSquare folders when restoring files from an Agent or virtual hard disk.
- Hyper-V restore can now negotiate a direct network connection with the host agent to allow for much faster restore speed
Publishing
- Fixed a bug that would prevent a published backup from appearing in the backup history.
- Inline publishing to Deduplicated storage should be now significantly faster.
Hyper-V
- On a cluster environment you can now select on which host storage you would like to restore a virtual machine
- Machines restored to another host/cluster will now be automatically configured as network disconnected as default.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a restore to fail if the source or destination disk(s) locations were changed.
- Fixed a bug that could create a naming mismatch during restore when vdisk storage is on a different location than snapshots and config folders
- Fixed a bug preventing SmartCopy mode to be activated correctly on some VHDX and VHD.
- Fixed a bug that would leave the backup virtual disk as opened by VSquare process and unable to be moved.
Agent Plugins Backup & Restore
- You can now choose to restore a files & folder backup avoiding restore of original ACL permissions
- Fixed a VHDX sizing error on very large provisioned partitions.
- You will now receive a backup warning when connecting to an Agent with a mismatching version.
- Removed ACL data journaling to avoid unnecessary disk usage during backup
- Fixed a bug causing filenames with special characters to be skipped
- Files & Folder backup will correctly remove readonly flag on target files before applying updates.
Deduplication
- Filesystem storage has been upgraded. VSquare deduplicated storage can now handle millions of files on a single storage instance. Storage upgrade to GEN2 will be automatic for every deduplicated storage.
- Blcocks storage has been updated to grant bigger sizes on disks (over 30TB) without the theoretical need of clustering the data after some millions of records. Please note that this upgrade is available only to newly created deduplication storages. Old storages will continue to use GEN2 db.
- You can now assign the full real disk size to the deduplicated disk, regardless of free or used space. Assigned size will be shown in red if greater than free disk space.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a deep clone to fail if the file already exist
- Fixed a bug that could cause a serivce window date and time to be saved without specified minutes.
