VFS service check failed (VSQ-000002)
Symptoms
When executing a manual or scheduled backup, no machine is worked and the report email displays the error:
Cause
This message is fired by the VSquare Backup Service pre-backup checks. The Virtual File System (VFS) used by VSquare to create differential, incremental and reverse incremental backups is not available and a backup of this type cannot be executed.
Resolution
Verify that the VSquare VFS job has been executed and that no VFS errors have been logged to the system log console. Since VFS is started as soon as VSquare Backup Service is started, stopping and starting the VSquare Backup Service and immediately verifying the system logs entries will help in diagnosing the specific issue.
