VSquare Backup Patch Notes 2.5
This document contains all of the updates and fixes that are contained in VSquare Backup version 2.5. Please read each note carefully as some updates and changes may impact your current setup and backup configuration.
Version 2.5 contains various components upgrades which drops support for older operating systems. As of version 2.5, VSquare can be installed and used on the following operating systems (both physical and virtual):
- Windows 10
- Windows 8.1
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2012 base and R2
- Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1

Backup
- You can now choose which VDDK version you would like to use during VMware backup.
Patch Notes -- Version 2.5.3.0
VMware
- Added optional SSL thumbprint configuration in VMware datacenter connection. You can now configure your VMware connection to use or not the available SSL thumbprint for backup connection.
- Added an advanced transport mode configuration string in the backup configuration tab. You can now choose the trasport modes order for each backupset.
Hyper-V
- It is now possibile to add an Hyper-V datacenter with a blank username and blank password when configuring an on-host connection
Client
- Fixed a bug that could cause Restore Wizard to try restore cloud files from local storage
Patch Notes -- Version 2.5.0.0
Server
- A mount point failing for 3 consecutive times will be now completely removed from the server mount cycle;
Backup
- Added support for VMWare 6.5 for both free and full ESXi licensing;
- Backup will now correctly execute when the VMware virtual machine is in a VMware tools install state;
- Backup will now attempt stop and resume vMotion only on machines where the services is enabled;
- Fixed a bug that could cause two backups started at the same time to lock each other during execution;
Exchange Restore
- Data scan will now try to ignore table data errors and continue reading to maximize the number or restored messages
- 2015 c++ libraries missing from setup have been added to setup package;
Client
- You can now choose to enable or disable CBT flag on VMware machines. Default is enabled;
- Fixed a bug that could cause a newly added datacenter to skip initial scan and stay empty until manually refreshed;
- Fixed a bug that could allow an Hyper-V node to be added without a name;

Due to the amount of architectural changes involved, version 2.5 cannot be installed over version 2.4 or earlier. Please uninstall VSquare before upgrading to this version.
