1.VSquare Backup Patch Notes 2.5

This document contains all of the updates and fixes that are contained in VSquare Backup version 2.5. Please read each note carefully as some updates and changes may impact your current setup and backup configuration.

1.Server Configuration Wizard fails to start after installation

After installing the latest version of VSquare, the Server Configuration Wizard required to complete all VSquare Backup configuration steps will display and exception message and close.

1.VSquare Backup Service starts and then immediately stops

After an unexpected reboot (or crash) of the machine where VSquare is installed, the VSquare Backup Service fails to start or successfully starts only to stop after a few seconds.

1.AddressAccessDeniedException – Cause and Solution

The error occurs due to the new security settings in Windows Vista, 7 and 8. Most people are no longer going to be running with Administrator privileges by default like they were doing on earlier platforms.

1.Change your attached VSquare plan

Each VSquare installation runs with an attached plan (a license, in some way) that specifies what the installation can do. When installing VSquare you'll be required to select a specific plan that will become attached to the installation. The attached plan can be deatched from an installation in order to move the installation to another server or to change it to another one.

1.Restoring a Full Virtual Machine

VSquare can restore a full virtual machine from a previous backup. Restore can be done by either overwriting the existing machine or by creating a brand new virtual machine with the same original configuration.

1.Configuring Off-Host Hyper-V Proxy Service

Off-Host Hyper-V configuration allows VSquare backup to control several Hyper-V Hosts without requiring a direct installation on each host. Having multiple Hyper-V hosts managed by a single VSquare instance can greatly consolidation of backup storage and schedule.

After each backup, VSquare will automatically index all of your virtual disks contents. This is done to both ensure that the backup data is perfectly readable and to create a searchable database of all your backup files.
