Go Back VSquare Backup Patch Notes 2.0

This document contains all of the updates and fixes that are contained in VSquare Backup version 2.0. Please read each note carefully as it may contain advices on upgrading your current VSquare Backup installation.

Before you begin
Version 2.0 is adding a number of new features targeting backup, restore and general server maintenance. The new data structure is not compatible with previous versions and a full in-place upgrade is not possible. When upgrading to version 2.0:

- The backupset scheduling will not be carried from version 1.x to version 2;
- Backup history for virtual machines will not be carried from version 1.x to version 2. You can still, after upgrading, merge back any backup using the merge backup function. Backupset history referst to the information of the backup position. Previous 1.x backups will still be normally working and restorable of course.

After restore VSquare will reconfigure the virtual machine as 'disconnected from network' and then proceed to check the boot of the OS. After a full start/stop cycle VSquare will send a detailed report of all the restore steps certifying that the machine can be succesfully restored.

Deduplication
- Deduplication footprint has been lowered to accomodate for smaller, less powerful systems
- Weekly maintenance has bee fixed. A bug causing continous maintenance on a single node has been corrected.
